Consultations and Fees

Consultations:

Are you ready to embark on your journey to:

  • Hire and sponsor global talent, start or invest in a business?

  • Immigrate, legalize your status, or become a US citizen?

  • Sponsor a family member?

For individuals and families, our initial one-hour consultation allows us to get to know each other to see if we would like to work together. We want to understand not only your facts/history, but also your priorities and concerns. Most consultations are virtual for wider accessibility. Contact us if you have other specific needs. At the consultation, we will learn more about immigration journey so far. We will strategize a plan. We will give you a quote for estimated fees and costs. While we can chat with you for a few minutes to see if your matter is within the scope of work we do or whether we need to refer you elsewhere, we do charge a consultation fee for a full evaluation of your situation.

For employers, investors, and entrepreneurs, our free initial half-hour consultation is meant to determine where you are at in your hiring process, company purchase, or start up. In a more in-depth paid consultation, we will learn more about your company, proposed candidate job duties, pay and benefits, hiring plans, overall visa needs, candidate evaluation, visa/green card eligibility, and more. Note that some employer-sponsored visas and green cards will require the employer or investor’s active participation and payment of legal fees and costs. Retainer options are available.

Benefits of an Initial Consultation:

  1. We get to know each other better. Do we want to work together?

  2. We strategize solutions, alternatives, and backup plans with you.

  3. We listen to your priorities and concerns, and answer your questions. (We recommend making a list of questions ahead of our meeting.)

  4. We will be honest with you: if nothing can be done now, we'll guide you on future possibilities or we will let you know any issues or complications that we see.

  5. Once we better understand your situation and learn more facts, we present a custom solution for your situation with fee and cost estimates, timing estimates, payment options, and initial document requirements. Some consultations may require follow-up research or ongoing consulting for certain situations.

Working with Us:

Contracts

Once you’re ready to get started working with us, you'll receive a written contract detailing our services, fees, costs, and terms. The attorney-client relationship begins when you sign the agreement and make an initial deposit. The contract specifies who will do what, the scope of work, estimated fees and costs, and addresses unforeseen events that could arise during your case. If dual representation is needed (i.e., representing more than one person such as husband and wife, employer and employee), you will receive a memorandum clarifying what happens in case of potential conflicts of interest. New clients are advised to schedule a longer meeting at or after the initial consultation to review the contract, provide a deposit, and submit necessary documents so that we can start your case right away.

Fees & Costs:

We know predictable fees and costs are important to you. We tailor your fees to your specific case. Flat fees apply to routine matters, while hourly rates cover unpredictable situations, lengthy, or variable processes. Many of our cases include both flat and hourly fees. Monthly retainers are available for employers with ongoing needs. Our fees cover attorney time, while costs are various out of pocket expenses paid by the firm or you.

Customized Approach:

We base our fees on a custom strategy for YOUR facts and issues, not anyone else’s case. Open communication is crucial; we expect your active participation throughout the process. We view our relationship together as a partnership on your way to achieving your business, immigration or citizenship dreams.
